My name is Rafael Miguel, born in 1993 in Aveiro – Portugal, and I’m and Orienteering enthusiast and athlete since 2006.

With a degree in Physiotherapy at Aveiro University (2011-2015), I’ve always been ambitioning to become Orienteering full time worker. I’ve worked as a Physiotherapist in FisioManual from 2015 until 2020, but since 2018 I’m living in Aguiar da Beira, working half time as an “Orienteering consultant” doing O-trainings to kids at school, organizing several activities, implementing O-permanent courses and mapping.

In 2020 I’ve made the decision of leave the Physiotherapy and focus only at Orienteering, what brought me to this point. My main focus is map making, but I also find very pleasant to organize O-trainings for all difficult levels, implement permanent courses, organize O-activities (including team building activities) and more.

One of he things I do the most is the direction of high class Orienteering events, being envolved on the best competitions organized in Portugal. The ultimate challenge came in 2018 with the allocation of JWOC 2022 to my Club Ori-Estarreja, to be held in Aguiar da Beira – Portugal.
